North Korea is reportedly seeking to host the 2014 Asian Games in Pyongyang.

North Korean authorities have reportedly launched efforts to set up an organization to prepare for a bid for the Games.

The secretive Stalinist state is also believed to be asking for positive cooperation from South Korea and China in its efforts to have Pyongyang play host to Asia's biggest sporting event.

The host country of the 2014 Asian Games is scheduled to be announced in late 2007.
