Tuesday is projected to be the coldest day this winter, with the morning low expected to drop to minus 12 degrees Celsius in Seoul.
Wind chill is expected to further pull down the temperatures to a bone-chilling minus-20 to minus-30 degrees in the central regions.
The Korea Meteorological Administration says that morning lows are expected to range from minus-4 to minus-20 degrees Celsius around the country on Tuesday with day-time highs staying below zero for much of the nation.
Morning lows will be minus-20 in Cheolwon, minus-11 in Chongjoo, minus-17 in Chunchon, minus-6 in Gwangju and minus-8 in Daegu.
However, wind chill effects are projected to pull down the temperatures to -25.8C in Seoul, -23.8 in Gangneung, -22.1C in Daegu, -21.3 in Daejon and -11.6 in Busan.
