The Korean Broadcasting Commission has held a presentation on South Korea's Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) technology in Malaysia. The move is part of efforts to promote the cutting-edge technology that enables subscribers to watch TV on mobile phones or while traveling in cars.
At the presentation held in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, officials from public broadcaster KBS demonstrated the terrestrial DMB features, while TU Media Corporation officials exhibited the satellite-based DMB. It was the first time for both terrestrial and satellite DMB technologies to be demonstrated at the same place.
The event drew about some 80 local broadcasting officials.
Meanwhile, KBC Chairman Noh Sung-dai outlined Seoul's plans to export the technology.
The South Korean delegation, which also comprises technicians from LG and Samsung Electronics, the leading manufacturers of DMB handsets, will fly to Singapore on Wednesday to hold a similar presentation.
