Top officials of professional football federations of South Korea, Japan and China gathered on Thursday to pool together their resources for the development of Asian football.
At a joint press conference in Seoul, Secretary General Kim Won-dong of the South Korean K-League and his Japanese and Chinese counterparts noted that the A3 champions Cup, the annual tournament between the top football teams of the three countries, has contributed greatly to the development of Asian football.
They expressed hopes that the third annual tournament to be held at South Korea’s Jeju Island next month will provide further momentum for development of the sport in the region.
Kim said the tournament will lay a cornerstone for the three countries to hold inter-league games.
