Telecommunications Minister Chin Dae-je says his Ministry plans to increase inter-Korean exchanges in the information and communications technology sector.
Information and Communication Minister made the remarks Monday during an interview with Yonhap News Agency.
During the interview, Chin said that the software sector is one among a number of potential areas of IT cooperation with North Korea, as it does not fall under regulation by the Wassenaar Arrangement.
The Wassenaar Arrangement was signed by 33 countries to put export restrictions on both conventional weapons and dual-use products and technologies.
The Minister said that the Seoul government has asked Washington which goods are possible to export to the Gaesong Industrial Complex.
Chin added that the structure and direction of IT cooperation with Pyongyang will be determined by Washington's response.
