S.Korean Soccer Star Hong Poses in 2005 FIFA Calendar

South Korea's retired soccer star and one of Asia's most decorated footballers, Hong Myung-bo, will be featured in FIFA’s 2005 calendar for the month of April.

The 35-year-old Hong player was photographed in his former uniform with the Los Angeles Galaxy club, where he last played before retiring. The picture also shows two children sitting beside Hong with their backs facing the front.

Hong was rated among the top 11 soccer players of the world by Reuters news agency, the same year he was selected among FIFA's all-stars for the 2002 World Cup Korea-Japan finals.

During his illustrious career, Hong frequently cited among foreign media as Asia's top libero or defensive specialist. He currently holds the domestic record for playing in a total 133 A-matches and the past four World Cups.
