Professor Lee Byung-ho of Seoul National University has been named a fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA).

The 40-year-old professor of electrical engineering first joined the faculty of Korea's most prestigious public university at the age of 30. During the past decade, he has actively engaged in research studies, publishing some 600 theses at home and abroad.

Lee's naming as an OSA Fellow is regarded as unusual due to the recipient's relatively young age.
