Boston Red Sox Offers 9 Mln Dlrs for S.Korean Pitcher

South Korean pitcher Lim Chang-yong is considering signing a five-year contract with the U.S. World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox.

Lim's agent Antonio Nam said Tuesday the club offered a revised five-year contract which includes a 250,000-dollar signing bonus.

The agent said he is optimistic about the likelihood of Lim joining the team.

Earlier this month, Lim was previously offered a three-year contract worth 5 billion won or some 4.7 million dollars to join the new Japanese pro-baseball team, Rakuten.
