An OECD report says the information-technology sector's contribution to South Korea's economy is the highest among member nations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

South Korea's Ministry of Information and Communication cited information from an OECD report, presented by the organization's Information, Computer, Communications Policy Committee, during a conference held in Paris early this month.

The report said South Korea showed the highest ratio of IT-related exports among OECD countries, followed by Ireland.

Additionally, South Korea ranked third after Czechoslovakia and New Zealand in terms of“IT intensity,” referring to the size of a country's info-tech market compared to the overall gross domestic product (GDP).
