Japan’s professional baseball league games will be held in South Korea next year.

Japan’s Nikkan Sports said Tuesday the Chiba Lotte Marines and the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks will hold matches in South Korea on June 28 and 29 next year.

The daily said the cities of Seoul, Busan and Incheon are possible venues for the matches and that Korean TV stars Bae Yong-joon and Choi Jee-woo of the KBS TV drama series "Winter Sonata", will be invited to throw the opening ball.

Korean-Japanese Masayoshi Son, president the Japanese Internet communications conglomerate Softbank, plans to acquire the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks within the month.

The games are expected to attract some 10,000 Japanese tourists to South Korea, the paper said.
