Prosecutors have indicted former employees of a local firm for allegedly attempting to sell sixth generation thin film transistor-liquid crystal display manufacturing technology to a Taiwanese company in return for jobs.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office says it has arrested two former employees of an unidentified leading liquid crystal display manufacturing company on charges of attempted theft of industrial secret.

A prosecution official said some 370 billion won was invested into developing the world-class sixth-generation TFT-LCD color filter. The technology can produce displays five times larger than Taiwan's fourth-generation displays.

A leak of the technology can bring a potential loss of two-point-five million dollars worth of overseas sales and several billion won worth of domestic sales for the South Korean company.
