Local Scientists Succeed in Cheaply Mass-Producing Nano Particles

A group of local scientists have succeeded in cheaply mass-producing nano particles.

Led by Professor Hyun Taek-hwan, Seoul National University researchers have developed a technology that simplifies the production of nano particles by substituting raw materials with other substances to ultimately reduce the total production cost to less than one one-thousandth of the previous costs.

The uniform nano particles produced by the researchers are key elements to applying nano technology to everyday use. They are expected to be applied in future generation computer hard disks and demagnetization of nano electrons.

The research team’s achievements will be featured in the December edition of Nature Material.
