S. Korea-Americas Soccer Friendlies Slated for Jan.

The national soccer team led by head coach Jo Bonfrere will hold a string of friendly matches with high-quality teams from the Americas during its stay in Los Angeles in January on a field training mission.
Publicity Director Yu Young-choel at the Korea Football Association said Wednesday that Team Korea will face off with footballers of Costa Rica, the U.S. and Columbia.
Yu said the principle of mobilizing the team with only Korean-league players remains unchanged and that many young new faces from the domestic league would therefore be joining the overseas training session.
He added that this would naturally lead younger players to replace some of the older players in the runup to the 2006 FIFA World Cup games in Germany.
