Friday is projected to be the coldest day in the central regions this year, as temperatures are expected to drop sharply across the nation.
Officials at the Korea Meteorological Administration said Wednesday the cold spell was expected to push temperatures down to minus territory in some regions.
The officials also said some snow and chilly winds are expected on Friday in most central regions, as well as in North Jeolla Province, Uleung and Dokdo Islands, and the mountainous Gangwon Province.
