South Korea has a 50-50 chance of playing in the same group with North Korea in the final round of qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup Germany.

According to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), eight teams were grouped into four seeded pairs based on performances in the 2002 World Cup and recent qualifying matches.

The second-seed teams are Saudi Arabia and Iran while Bahrain and Uzbekistan have been named third seeds. Kuwait and North Korea are both seeded fourth.

The draw will be held in Kuala Lumpur on December 9. The eight countries will be divided into two groups of four in the final round. The top two teams in each group will advance to the World Cup finals.
