Short Track Skater Kim Gil-li Wins Olympic Gold in Women's 1,500 Meters

Kim Gil-li has won the gold medal in the women's 15-hundred-meter short track speed skating at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Kim clocked a time of two minutes and 32-point-076 seconds in the final race on Friday, local time, at the Milano Ice Skating Arena in Italy.

With the victory, Kim brings her total medal count at the Winter Games to three, adding to her gold in the women’s three-thousand-meter relay and a bronze in the women’s one-thousand-meter short track speed skating event.

Fellow skater Choi Min-jeong took the silver in the 15-hundred meter event, grabbing her seventh Olympic medal to become the South Korean athlete with the most Olympic medals.
