Wednesday is set to see freezing temperatures in the morning, with morning lows in some areas expected to plunge to as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius. 

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Tuesday, the mercury is dropping sharply in most parts of the country amid strong winds. 

A cold wave advisory is set to begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday for the eastern parts of Gyeonggi Province, the Chungcheong provinces, Gangwon Province and the northern parts of North Gyeongsang Province.

Morning lows will stand between minus 15 and minus two degrees, down five to nine degrees from Tuesday’s lows. 

Afternoon highs will range between minus two and plus eleven degrees, similar to Tuesday’s. 

Starting in the late afternoon, light rain or snow is expected for Gangwon Province and the Seoul metro area.
