President Lee Jae Myung has arrived in Shanghai after wrapping up his stay in Beijing. 

The president arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at around 5 p.m. Tuesday. 

As the first official event in Shanghai, Lee is scheduled to have dinner with Chen Jining, the city’s Communist Party secretary and a leading contender for China’s next presidency.

On Wednesday, Lee will attend the Korea-China Venture Startup Summit before visiting a building that housed the Provisional Government of Korea.

Before departing for Shanghai, Lee met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and China’s third‑highest‑ranking official Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
