The presidential office plans to increase its live broadcasts in the new year to include policy briefings and other events for all 47 of the government’s ministries and agencies.

At a press briefing on Wednesday, senior presidential secretary for public relations Lee Kyu-yeon said that during its first seven months the administration has provided unprecedented live coverage of its implementation of state affairs, such as Cabinet meetings and policy briefings.

The senior secretary said the increased broadcasts are expected to cover symbolic state events, important policy issues and other matters of public interest.

The ministerial events will be transmitted via the state-run KTV and the official YouTube channel.

The presidential aide said the expanded broadcasts can be expected to enhance transparency and increase public confidence in government policy.
