The KBS documentary "Glaciers" has received the top prize from the Korea Media and Communications Commission(KMCC).

The commission presented the award to the KBS documentary and 14 other works during its Broadcasting Awards ceremony in Seoul on Friday. 

"Glaciers" is the nation's first in-depth five-part documentary series exploring glaciers. 

The commission said the documentary had expanded viewers' understanding of climate change by providing comprehensive information on the formation and evolution of glaciers through a scientific and ecological lens. 

The grand prize, which is the highest award, went to the CJ ENM TV series "Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born."
