Seoul added 20 extra subway runs and extended peak‑hour bus dispatches by 30 minutes during Friday’s morning rush to lessen the impact of overnight snowfall on commutes.

City officials said Friday they were carrying out additional snow and ice removal in frozen sections, on sidewalks and on back roads where deicing was insufficient.

The Naebu Expressway and other roads that had been closed due to snow were fully reopened overnight.

The city said deicing agents had been spread across major arterial roads and expressways.

Authorities urged the public to exercise caution, citing a high risk of black ice and slip‑related accidents.
