Lee Expresses Condolences to Hong Kong after Deadly Apartment Fire

President Lee Jae Myung expressed his condolences to the people of Hong Kong after a fire at a high-rise public housing complex killed at least 94 people.

On social media Friday, Lee said South Korea and the rest of the world are grief-stricken by the news.

The president offered a prayer for the victims, and conveyed his condolences to the families and expressed his hope for the safe return of those still unaccounted for.

He also paid tribute to the hundreds of rescue workers and volunteers engaging in a life-or-death struggle to save more lives.

Lee's message was also posted in English and Chinese.

No South Korean casualties have yet been reported from the fire.
