South Korea’s real gross domestic product(GDP) growth in the third quarter ranked among the highest of major economies.

Preliminary data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, released Tuesday, showed that South Korea’s GDP grew one-point-166 percent in the July-September period, ranking third among 26 economies.

Israel topped the list with two-point-967 percent growth, and Indonesia ranked second at one-point-216 percent.

China posted one-point-one percent growth in the third quarter, falling behind South Korea on a quarterly basis for the first time in roughly three years.

As the economy shows signs of recovery, led by strong semiconductor exports and domestic demand, Nomura Securities recently raised its 2026 growth outlook for South Korea to two-point-three percent from its earlier one-point-nine percent estimate.
