The government will allow the use of private sector-developed AI on its internal networks.

The science and interior ministries announced on Monday that they will launch a "pan-governmental AI joint foundation" to jointly use a wide range of private AI models and learning data across the internal networks of central and local governments.

Previously, it was difficult to apply private AI services to administrative work due to the risk of data leaks.

The pan-governmental service will now allow the government to deploy the latest AI models swiftly and safely within secure internal networks.

The government aims to reduce the costs associated with duplicate development and investments and to improve service quality by applying AI across various areas, from internal administrative work to public services.
