Park Cheol-woo, head of the anti-corruption department at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, has been named the new head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office.  

The justice ministry carried out a reshuffle of senior prosecutors, including Park, on Wednesday. 

Park’s appointment comes about two weeks after Jung Jin-woo resigned as chief of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office in protest of the prosecution's decision not to appeal a ruling on the Daejang-dong corruption case.

Senior prosecutor Joo Min-cheol from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office will take Park's old position at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.

The ministry said that the reshuffle aimed to fill vacancies caused by the resignation of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office chief and others and refresh staffing at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.
