Hyundai Motor, which pulled out of the Russian market in late 2023, has registered several trademarks in the country.

Citing data from Rospatent, Russia's Federal Service for Intellectual Property, the state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported Monday that the South Korean automaker's registered trademarks, including the Hyundai Motor logo, are effective through 2034.

The news agency said the registrations would allow Hyundai to manufacture and sell automobiles and various auto parts in Russia.

The report comes about a month before Hyundai Motor's two-year deadline to repurchase its production facility in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Though the details of Hyundai's sales contract with Russia's Art-Finance, completed in January 2024, were not disclosed, earlier reports indicated that it included a two-year buyback clause.

Since Hyundai sold off the facility and its stake in the country after more than a dozen years of operation, Art-Finance subsidiary AGR Automotive Group has continued production via Hyundai's Russian brands including Solaris.
