The government has issued a travel advisory for Cuba in response to the spread of infectious disease across the Caribbean country.

The foreign ministry issued a Level One travel advisory, the lowest of South Korea's four-tier travel alert system, for all of Cuba at 9 p.m. Wednesday, citing the spread of dengue fever and chikungunya fever.

The government advised those currently in Cuba to remain vigilant and those planning visits to exercise caution.

The ministry recommended that both parties refer to the 2025 guidelines on mosquito-borne viral diseases issued by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, as well as related notices from the South Korean embassy in Havana.
