The presidential office has announced a plan to revitalize the public sector.

Presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik announced the measures on Wednesday during a press briefing to present the findings of a related task force.

Kang said the administration will amend the Board of Audit and Inspection Act in the first half of 2026 to abolish audits of state policies, helping public officials fulfill their duties in accordance with their convictions.

Kang said that since Justice Minister Jung Sung-ho instructed the prosecution in July to be prudent in probing power-abuse cases, the government is now moving to revise related legislation to prevent the misuse of such indictments as political retaliation.

The top office also outlined five tasks aimed at bolstering talent in the public sector, such as increasing civilian employment opportunities and establishing a system to manage an overseas network of public officials.
