South Korea and the United States have concluded trade consultations but have yet to announce a joint fact sheet on the results of their tariff and security negotiations.
The government said Wednesday that the two nations' trade authorities have finalized a text regarding tariffs and investments related to the U.S.
But when asked about the matter at a session of the National Assembly's Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee on Tuesday, Trade Minister Kim Jung-kwan said the document was in its final stage but that he could not predict its release date.
The government said a draft has been prepared covering the operation of invested funds in the United States and that the two sides are coordinating the signing of a related memorandum of understanding.
Many suspect that the United States needs additional time to iron out internal differences over issues such as South Korea's plan to build nuclear-powered submarines.
The two allies agreed to release a fact sheet as soon as possible after President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump's meeting in Gyeongju on October 29, but the announcement has already been delayed by two weeks.
