“APT.,” the mega-hit song by Rosé of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK and American musician Bruno Mars, and “Golden,” from the animated Netflix hit film “KPop Demon Hunters,” have been nominated in major categories for next year’s Grammy Awards.
“APT.” was nominated for record of the year, song of the year, and best pop duo/group performance.
“Golden,” performed by Korean American artists EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI as members of the film’s fictional girl group Huntr/x, was nominated in five categories, including song of the year and best pop duo/group performance.
Record of the year and song of the year are among the “big six” Grammy categories, and this is the first time any K-pop songs have been nominated in those categories.
International girl group KATSEYE under HYBE was nominated for best new artist and best pop duo/group performance, while the Tony-winning musical “Maybe Happy Ending” was nominated for best musical theater album.
The 68th Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 1.
