Former first lady Kim Keon-hee has requested release on bail, citing health concerns.

According to legal sources, Kim filed the request with the Seoul Central District Court on Monday, stating that she'd been experiencing dizziness and anxiety that required proper medical treatment.

A date for the bail hearing has not yet been scheduled.

Kim has been in custody since mid-August and has been accused of stock manipulation, illegal political donations and bribery linked to the Unification Church.

Special counsel Min Joong-ki's team indicted Kim in late August on those charges.
