The LG Twins clinched their fourth Korean Series championship on Friday, defeating the Hanwha Eagles 4-1 in Game Five to win the best-of-seven series 4-1.

Playing on the road in Daejeon, LG overcame early pressure to secure back-to-back wins after taking both Games Four and Five.

Designated hitter Kim Hyun-soo, who batted point-529 with one home run and eight RBIs during the series, was named MVP, receiving 61 of 89 media votes.

Starter Anders Tollhurst earned his second win of the series after pitching seven innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts.

LG’s offense was led by Kim, Shin Min-jae and Koo Bon-hyuk, with each collecting three hits, as the team completed a combined regular-season and postseason sweep for the first time since 2023.

For Hanwha, seeking its first title since 1999, the loss marked a runner-up finish — its first in 19 years — despite a valiant effort by seven pitchers, including Ryu Hyun-jin.
