President Lee Jae Myung returned home Monday night after a two-day visit to Malaysia for Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) meetings aimed at strengthening regional cooperation.

The presidential aircraft carrying Lee and first lady Kim Hea Kyung arrived at the Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, from Kuala Lumpur.

During his trip, Lee attended the South Korea–ASEAN Summit, where he outlined a blueprint for Seoul’s comprehensive strategic partnership with the regional bloc.

He also took part in a meeting of the ASEAN Plus Three, involving South Korea, China and Japan, during which he emphasized the importance of cooperation between Southeast Asia and the three Northeast Asian nations.

On the sidelines, Lee and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet agreed to launch a joint task force to combat online scams targeting South Korean nationals.

Before departing for Seoul, Lee also met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
