Cold air from the north continues to push southward, sending temperatures across the country below seasonal averages while strong winds add to the chill.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Monday, a cold wave advisory has been issued for parts of the North Gyeongsang region, with frost and thin ice expected in some inland areas overnight.

Morning temperatures on Tuesday will dip below Monday's lows, ranging from minus four to eight degrees Celsius nationwide, including two degrees in Seoul and minus two degrees in Chuncheon, roughly one to seven degrees lower than Monday.

Afternoon highs will stay mild, reaching 12 degrees in Seoul and 15 degrees in Daegu, with most regions between 11 degrees and 18 degrees, similar to Monday.

Waves will reach two to four meters high in the southern and eastern offshore waters, making for rough sea conditions.

The brief cold snap is expected to ease gradually toward the end of the week.
