In response to last month’s fire that crippled online government services, Interior Minister Yun Ho-jung has vowed to overhaul the government’s information system management to prevent another major disruption.

The minister made the pledge Thursday while presiding over a meeting at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters in Seoul.

According to the headquarters, 324 of the 709 online government services affected by the blaze at the National Information Resources Service had been restored as of 6 a.m. Thursday, bringing the recovery rate to 45-point-seven percent.

The restoration rate for the government’s 40 highest-priority Grade 1 systems stands at 77-point-five percent.

Expecting recovery efforts to accelerate, Minister Yun said the government aims to restore 289 systems, including top-priority Grade 1 and 2 systems, by the end of the month.
