The Samsung Lions have advanced to the playoff round of the Korean Baseball Organization(KBO) postseason, having beaten the SSG Landers three games to one in their best-of-five first round series. 

The Lions secured their spot by defeating the Landers 5-2 in Game 4 on Tuesday in front of their home fans at Daegu Samsung Lions Park.

The Lions, with the fourth-best record of the regular season, will take on the No. 2 Hanwha Eagles in the second round.

Game 1 of their playoff series begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark in Daejeon.
 
The game will be the first fall baseball showdown between the two teams since 2007.
