The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD) maintained its forecast that the South Korean economy would grow one percent this year, citing a continuing recovery trend.

The organization expects the growth to continue into 2026, accelerating to two-point-two percent.

It had projected in March that the nation's economy would expand one-point-five percent this year before adjusting the figure down to one percent in June.

The OECD forecast that the global economy would expand three-point-two percent in 2025, up zero-point-three percentage point compared to its June projection.

The organization said that shipments prior to tariff hikes under U.S. President Donald Trump and increased investment in artificial intelligence drove the global recovery.
