Police have raided Lee Choon-suak's office for the second time Thursday after the independent lawmaker was accused of fraudulent trading.

The financial crime investigation unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said Thursday that its investigators were searching Lee’s office at the National Assembly to secure evidence.

The scandal began in August after photos surfaced that appeared to show the four-term lawmaker trading stocks under an aide's name on a mobile phone during a parliamentary plenary session.

Police have since launched an investigation, raiding Lee’s offices and summoning him for questioning last month.

The unit now aims to secure additional evidence related to the source of the funds Lee invested.
