The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Monday surpassed its record high for the fourth session with its new record breaking numbers.

The KOSPI rose eleven-point-77 points, or zero-point-35 percent, Monday to close at three-thousand-407-point-31.

The main bourse climbed to the three-thousand-420 mark at one point during morning trading. 

Analysts attributed the rise in stock prices to gains in semiconductor shares and the government’s announcement earlier in the day that it would keep the major shareholder threshold for capital gains tax at five billion won, or three-point-six million U.S. dollars.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ gained five-point-61 points, or zero-point-66 percent, to close at 852.69.
