A total of 316 South Korean workers who were released from a U.S. immigration detention facility after a one-week incarceration returned home on a chartered plane on Friday.

The Korean Air flight arrived at Incheon International Airport at 3:23 p.m. Friday after departing from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 11:38 a.m. Thursday local time, carrying the South Koreans as well as 14 foreign nationals.

The South Koreans’ homecoming comes a day after they were released from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement's detention facility in Folkston, Georgia.

They were detained last Thursday after immigration authorities stormed a construction site in Georgia where South Korea’s Hyundai Motor and LG Energy Solution were building an EV battery plant. At the site, 475 people were arrested.

One of the South Korean workers who was released from the detention facility chose to remain in the U.S.
