The government has unveiled the eligibility criteria for its second round of consumption coupons, which will be issued starting September 22.

In a joint press briefing of related ministries on Friday, the government announced that it will first exclude high-asset individuals based on property tax assessments, then select the bottom 90 percent of income earners based on health insurance premiums.

The second round of the stimulus program targets the bottom 90 percent of income earners, providing 100-thousand won, or roughly 66 U.S. dollars, for each person.

Those eligible may apply for the coupons from September 22 to October 31. 

Coupons distributed in the first and second rounds of the program are valid until November 30, after which any unused funds will automatically expire.
