A total of 316 South Korean workers who were detained and released from a U.S. immigration detention facility headed home on a chartered plane Thursday.

The Korean Air flight took off from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 11:38 a.m. local time carrying the South Koreans as well as 14 foreign nationals.

They are expected to arrive at Incheon International Airport around 3 p.m. Friday, Korea Standard Time.

The departure comes a week after the South Koreans were detained in a massive immigration raid at a battery plant construction site for a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution in Georgia.

One of the South Korean workers who had been detained at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's detention facility in Folkston, Georgia, chose to stay in the U.S.
