South Korea's exports increased nearly four percent from a year earlier in the first ten days of September.

Preliminary data from the Korea Customs Service on Thursday showed the country’s outbound shipments reached one-point-92 billion U.S. dollars during the cited period, up three-point-eight percent from a year earlier.

Average daily exports, however, dropped eight-point-four percent, with the number of working days rising one day from a year ago to eight and a half.

Exports remained strong in major sectors, with semiconductor shipments increasing 28-point-four percent and shipbuilding exports rising 55-point-three percent on-year.

However, exports to the United States slipped eight-point-two percent on-year due to U.S. tariffs.

Imports increased eleven-point-one percent year-on-year to 20-point-four billion dollars, resulting in a trade deficit of one-point-two billion dollars.
