Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization(KBO) broke the record for single-season attendance in the country's professional baseball, surpassing one-point-four million.

The Lions attracted the full capacity crowd of 24-thousand fans on Friday, when it defeated the Kiwoom Heroes eight-three during a home game at the Daegu Samsung Lions Park.

The latest tally raised the Lions' cumulative season attendance to over one-point-401 million, the highest figure since the country's professional baseball league launched in 1982.

The previous record set last season was held by LG Twins at one-point-397 million.

The KBO also set a new league attendance of over ten-point-nine million fans, surpassing the previous record of ten-point-89 million from the 2024 season.
