U.S. President Donald Trump denied having knowledge about a botched Navy SEAL operation, which the New York Times said was greenlit by Trump but ended up killing unarmed North Korean civilians.

"I don't know anything about it. I could look but I know nothing about it. I don't know anything about it. I'm hearing about it for the first time."

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office Friday, Trump was asked about the alleged mission during his first term in office.

The newspaper on Friday reported that U.S. naval commandos infiltrated into North Korea in early 2019 on a mission to install a device to intercept North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's communications.

Fearing that they had been spotted by a North Korean boat, the SEALs opened fire and killed everyone aboard the boat, according to the Times.
