U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly signed an executive order implementing his trade deal with Japan.

Reuters issued the report on Thursday, quoting the White House.

The executive order reads that the United States will apply a baseline 15 percent tariff on nearly all Japanese imports entering the United States, the White House said.

The order also reduces U.S. tariffs on Japanese automobiles to 15 percent from the current 27-point-five percent.

Additionally, it has granted the U.S. commerce secretary the authority to modify the reciprocal tariff rate to zero percent for Japanese imports products are natural resources not available domestically, generic pharmaceuticals, and others. 

On July 22, Washington and Tokyo struck a deal for the U.S. to reduce the tariff rate for Japan from 25 to 15 percent in return for Tokyo agreeing to further open its auto and agricultural markets and to make a large-scale investment in the U.S.
