KOSPI UP with Gains in IT & Leisure

South Korean stocks closed higher again Thursday with foreign investors anticipating a US Federal Reserve rate cut next month. 

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose 16-point-41 points, or zero-point-52 percent, Thursday to close at three-thousand-200-point-83.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ gained eight-point-61 points, or one-point-08 percent, to close at 805-point-42.

Semiconductors, chemicals and IT shares led gains, with hotels and duty-free store operators also gaining ground ahead of the upcoming Chuseok holidays.

Meanwhile, the Korean won weakened slightly to one-thousand-392-point-five won against the U.S. dollar.
