The South Korean government says it is preparing for all possible scenarios stemming from the Victory Day event in China.

An official at Seoul's unification ministry on Thursday commented on the optics the leaders from China, Russia and North Korea displayed in Beijing the previous day. 

The official said that the V-day celebration could lead to strengthened collaboration among the three cold-war allies against the United States, or a resumption of the U.S.-North Korea dialogue based on the North's solid relations with Russia and China.  

While noting that Seoul is getting ready for all possible scenarios going forward, the official said the government will continue to exert efforts for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
