North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s daughter, Ju-ae, is accompanying her father to China for a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of China’s victory over Japan at the end of World War II.

The girl was seen in photos released by the North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency late Tuesday, getting off the train right after the regime leader upon arriving at Beijing Station.

Kim Ju-ae was standing in front of North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui and ruling Workers’ Party Secretaries Jo Yong-won and Kim Tok-hun, as they were being greeted by senior Chinese officials.

Experts say her visit to China is not just a diplomatic event but may be interpreted as a declaration to the international community that she is her father’s successor.

However, the North’s state media, which have been actively reporting on Kim Jong-un’s trip, have not specifically mentioned his daughter in any of its reports.
