President Lee Jae Myung has pledged to prioritize the long-term interests of the South Korean people over political gain as he prepares for state visits to Japan and the United States.
At a meeting with senior aides at the presidential office Thursday, Lee said the nation faces “too many challenges amid shifting global dynamics and trade rules,” stressing the need to strengthen national power.
He stressed that diplomacy must serve the entire nation, not the temporary standing of a government.
Lee added that he will continue seeking practical solutions for peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula, calling for strong public support.
He also highlighted the global reach of K-content, citing Netflix’s “K-Pop Demon Hunters” as proof of South Korea’s growing cultural influence.
Lee urged ministries to craft a long-term strategy to foster the content industry and build South Korea into a “cultural powerhouse leading the world.”
